HHS Course Verifications for Rising 9th Graders (Current 8th Graders)

2017-2018 Hoover High School course selections need to be verified by May 5th. Please log in to INow as a student or parent to verify requests. On the top right hand corner, pull down SCHOOL/ACADEMIC SESSION to Hoover High School 2017-18. Under STUDENT INFORMATION, click REQUESTS. Requested courses for the 2017-2018 school year will appear. If all courses are correct, no other action is necessary. If courses need to be changed, see instructions for making changes here. All changes requested after May 5th will require a $20 fee. No changes will be made after May 26, 2017. See 2017-2018 HHS Course fees here. Fees can be paid online in July or at summer registration.

Important 8th Grade Transition to HHS Dates

HHS INFORMATION FOR INCOMING FRESHMAN (Current SMS 8^th Graders):

Important 8^th Grade Transition to HHS Dates:

Monday, February 6^th: 8^th Graders Visit HHS (8:30-11:30)

Students will learn about various high school programs including academies, advanced classes, fine arts, athletics, extracurricular activities and student life at HHS. A tour of the high school will be included. We will leave SMS promptly at 8:15 am. 

Wednesday, February 8^th: HHS Counselors Come to SMS

HHS Counselors will provide an overview of 9^th grade course selection during math classes. Counselors will go over course selection sheets along with graduation requirements and 4-year plans. Teacher recommendations are required for all core classes. If a parent has a question about a recommendation, they should contact that particular teacher.

Thursday, February 16^th: HHS Course Selection and Curriculum Information Night

6:00-8:30 pm @ Hoover High School 

Save the date!  Hoover High School is proud to offer a diverse curriculum, and we want parents to be fully aware of the academic opportunities available.  

     6:00 - IB Information Session (rising 9th grade, Competition Gym)

If interested, please attend these sessions in the lunchroom:

     6:30 - Rising Freshman Information Session (rising 9th grade)

     7:00 - Academy Overview (rising 9th grade)

     7:30 - Earning College Credit while in High School (open to all grades)

     8:00 - Virtual Courses (open to all grades)

Additionally, representatives from various academic and elective programs as well as academies will be available in the practice gym from 6:30 to 8:30 to answer questions and provide additional information regarding specific courses and programs available at Hoover High School.
