HHS INFORMATION FOR INCOMING FRESHMAN (Current SMS 8th Graders):
Important 8th Grade Transition to HHS Dates:
Monday, February 6th: 8th Graders Visit HHS (8:30-11:30)
Students will learn about various high school programs including academies, advanced classes, fine arts, athletics, extracurricular activities and student life at HHS. A tour of the high school will be included. We will leave SMS promptly at 8:15 am.
Wednesday, February 8th: HHS Counselors Come to SMS
HHS Counselors will provide an overview of 9th grade course selection during math classes. Counselors will go over course selection sheets along with graduation requirements and 4-year plans. Teacher recommendations are required for all core classes. If a parent has a question about a recommendation, they should contact that particular teacher.
Thursday, February 16th: HHS Course Selection and Curriculum Information Night
6:00-8:30 pm @ Hoover High School

Additionally, representatives from various academic and elective programs as well as academies will be available in the practice gym from 6:30 to 8:30 to answer questions and provide additional information regarding specific courses and programs available at Hoover High School.
