End of the Semester Update from the School Counselors

It has been a great 2018-2019 school year so far, and we cannot believe the first semester is almost over!  Here are a few highlights from the past couple of months:

Mix it Up Day:
During lunch, students and teachers were randomly assigned based on lollipop flavor.  Students (and teachers!) had the opportunity to sit with others they typically do not sit with.  Students ate lunch together and played a fun game.  Mix it Up Day encourages new interactions, kindness and students to look for opportunities to be an encouragement to others.

Red Ribbon Week: October 22-26, 2018
Our theme was Life is a Journey...Travel Drug Free!"

MONDAY – Our Peer Helpers shared the Red Ribbon Week story about Enrique Camarena during homebase.

TUESDAY – All faculty, staff, and students were encouraged to wear RED!

WEDNESDAY – Peer helpers led a Jeapoardy! activity during homebase. All students received a Red Ribbon Week bracelet.

THURSDAY – During PE classes, Hoover High School TNT students led activities encouraging students to make healthy choices.

FRIDAY – Red Ribbon Week door decoration contest winners were announced! Here is a taste of just some of the wonderful door decorations!

Happy New Year from Ms. Webster, Mrs. Winnie, and Mrs. Berryhill!  Here's to a great second semester!
