Power UP, Central Six AlabamaWorks!, Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, AIDT/AWTC, Wood Group PLC and the Academy of Craft Training present the 3rd annual “Power UP: It’s a Mother Daughter Thing!” The first two years have been tremendously successful with over 600 attendees, employer partners and training providers. Our third annual event promises to educate, engage and encourage more mothers and daughters to explore career opportunities in the construction industry.
Who: 6th-12th young women and their mothers
What: Hands-on construction activities, dialogue with successful women in construction, and interaction with construction employers and training providers
When: March 6, 2018 from 5:30-8:30pm
Where: Alabama Workforce Training Center (AWTC) located at 3500 Sixth Avenue South Birmingham, AL 35222
Why: Women can be the talent supply to fill the labor shortage in the construction industry
